A full House enjoyed the charity concert in Pilar de la Horadada. Opening the show were the Velvetones who sang their repertoire wonderfully well with expertly performed key changes, finishing their spell with the up tempo number 'Hooked on a feeling'. They were followed by the gold medal winning ladies quartet Fenix who entertained the audience valiantly, while the stage crew removed the 'furniture' behind the curtains. The audience were then treated to a fantastic display of Latin American dancing performed by the youngsters from el club de baile deportivo Horadada. Six young couples ages ranging from ten to sixteen gave a performance that would have been envied by 'Strictly come dancing' experts. Following the interval the concert continued with fabulous Flamenco dancing of the three female dancers, Francisca, Jordan and Emma from the group Al Andalus. The show was completed with a rousing performance by the medal winning Torrevieja Barbershop Harmonisers, who even had the audience joining in with a 'party time' rendition of The Grand Old Duke of York and ended, due to public demand with their version of Boardwalk. The evening ended with a presentation of €1000, to the AECC and Pinar de Campoverde Church and bouquets to Snr Maria Garcia Samper, director of the Casa de Cultura, without whose help the concert would not have taken place and to Latitia Hirst, whose Spanish language skills were needed to help in the organisation of the event.
